Little Essentials

Little Essentials is a non-profit organization in New York City and offers at-risk families living in poverty urgently needed children’s supplies and parenting education to promote the health, well-being and safety of their children under five years of age. We provide basic supplies to families by partnering with shelters, social-service agencies, and community organizations.

At our Manhattan warehouse, volunteers help prepare packages for families based on their specific needs. We provide parenting and other educational workshops for families to help prepare them for parenthood and help their children thrive. Our donation program is based on the redistribution of materials that would otherwise end up in landfills. In 2018, we distributed 14,422 pounds of materials amounting to energy savings of 28.04 metric tons of CO2 emissions and 603.04 million BTUs.
