Mott Haven Fridge

Every day in New York City, paid drivers on big trucks bring excess produce to food pantries. Unfortunately, food pantries aren’t accessible to every hungry New Yorker. At Mott Haven Fridge Network, we replace paid drivers on trucks with families in SUVs , and we replace food pantries with easy-access “friendly fridges” on city sidewalks. Every Saturday, our volunteer drivers deliver fresh produce rescued from the biggest produce market in the world to neighbors in need. We’ve rescued over 170,000 lbs of fresh produce since March. We’re building a network to ensure that all New Yorkers have dignified access to fresh and healthy food.
